How to order records

Records for viewing should at first be identified in the Astia electronic search system for customer use. Identified records can then be ordered electronically at a computer terminal in any unit of the National Archives Service. It will in the future be possible to order records through the Internet from your own PC for viewing in a unit of the National Archives Service.

The Reading Room Staff advises customers in the ordering of records and in the use of electronic services. Ordered records are delivered to the reading rooms, and are available for 14 days after delivery. Records can also be reserved for a longer period if there are no other claims for them.

Customers can place advance orders for records if they intend to view them at a time when records are not delivered.

For more details about the delivery hours of the National Archives Service units, see the contact information.
