Welcome to the Provincial Archives of Turku

The district of the Provincial Archives of Turku covers the areas of the Regional Council of Southwest Finland and the Regional Council of Satakunta.

The Provincial Archives of Turku is open to all. The use of records in the research room is free of charge.

Our largest customer groups consist of history researchers and students as well as people interested in genealogy and local history. The Provincial Archives receives around 10,000 visitors a year.

Customers have at their disposal a microfilm reading room with 12 seats and a research room with 26 seats, where records ordered from the archival storage rooms are delivered. There is also a comprehensive reference library that focuses mainly on history.
