Welcome to the Provincial Archives of Hämeenlinna

The archives district of the Provincial Archives of Hämeenlinna covers the regions of the Regional Council of Häme, the Council of Tampere Region, the Regional Council of Päijät-Häme and the Uusimaa Regional Council, except for the Helsinki Metropolitan area.

The Provincial Archives of Hämeenlinna is open to all. The use of records in the research room is free of charge.

The largest customer groups using the archives include people with an interest in genealogy and local history, history researchers and students. Around 3,000 customers visit the Archives a year.

Customers can use the research room, which has 21 seats. There are 15 seats for reading microfilms and five computers on customer use. The library is partly available on open-access shelves in the research room and part of it is located in the library storage room, and is delivered to customers upon request.

Changing exhibitions on records in custody of the archives are displayed in the entrance hall.
